MY PASSION is to support you in finding the diet that most optimally enhances your spiritual connection to Life.
A diet that honours Mother Earth will also honour and enhance your Spiritual Connection.
As I have journeyed over the years, health has always been important to me. And I have come across many ways, one with better promises than the other. I have never been much of a "try it all" kind of a person - following my intuition,I have found a few that spoke to me, and found a way that is working for me.
What I have also discovered is a Full Being Nourishment that is essential for our well being:
As important as our food choices are - after all, we are what we eat - without some other key elements in place in our life, we cannot achieve total well-being.
What am I talking about here? You could be eating the most nutritious food on the planet, but if there are missing elements in your life, your body won't be able to absorb all the nutrients fully. As an example, the body's capacity to absorb iron depends on the level of joy in your life.
What are some of these elements?
- Clean drinking Water and Air
- Organic Foods, Green Beauty Products and Cleaning products for the home. Green meaning organic as well as without harmful additives. You should be able to eat what you put on your body.
- A sense of belonging; being part of a tribe or community in a positive and enriching way
- Having somebody in your life you love, and being loved and seen for who you are
- Having a balance between work and pleasure
- Feeling a sense of inner joy - this comes through a life of meditation; i.e practices that honour the connection to the sacred in your life
- Healthy relationships - feeling and experiencing approx 20% challenge and 80% joy and pleasure. If you take a look at your life the way it is now, including the main relationships in your life, how would you score them on the joy/challenge scale?
- A loving, connected relationship with Mother Nature - Do you live where you have easy access to nature? Do you spend time in nature on a regular basis? Personally I have found a wonderful way to connect with our beautiful Mother that gives me a lot of joy. I walk bare feet as much as possible in the summertime in forests, on the rocks by the river; anywhere I possibly can.
- Supplementation is another important key to optimal health - Our soil is unfortunately depleted in today's world, and does no longer provide us naturally with all that we need
- Knowing who you are and why you are here, and being able to express your passion and gifts - Added to this is that your gifts are desired by others. This is as important as being in touch with the gifts themselves. You could be totally connected to your passion and gifts, but if that creativity doesn't get an outlet where you feel that who you are is appreciated, all this creativity gets bottled up inside of you, and can turn against you instead of supporting your greater well-being. I have a feeling that we all long for a place in a tribe or community where we are genuinely appreciated and needed for the contribution we have to offer.
- Gratitude
All these said and done, what we eat is still important. But it is important in relationship with everything else we do in life. Nothing in life is independent or separate from other things.

My Journey
Throughout my adult life I have been very fascinated by the effect of different foods on my health and well-being both mentally and emotionally, as well as physically.
When I was 20, I decided to stop eating meat spontaneously through the suggestion of a wonderful friend of mine. Within a few months I started noticing very profound shifts in my awareness of my inner reality. This opened up an inquiry in me that led me to yoga. This was the first of many incidences that showed me the profound effect of our dietary choices on our spiritual awareness.
A few years later I was introduced to living/raw foods. It seemed very fascinating and I felt a pull to explore that way, yet it took me another 11 years until I was ready both emotionally and mentally to fully say yes to this way. At the age of 33 I dared to venture onto this, in some people’s eyes, radical journey. Within a few months I found that some emotional issues that I had struggled to heal for many years, naturally started dissipating. Simply by eating differently. This was astounding. I had had a pattern in relationships of imagining the worst possible outcome, and tended to start behaving in ways to prove that I was unlovable.
After a few months on living foods, it was as if a veil was lifted off my mind, and I started seeing things more clearly. My mind became so much more quiet. It was amazing.
Physically I lost a lot of weight during the first six months, and it took up to a year - year and a half until my weight finally stabilized at a more comfortable weight. I have since learnt more about this, and know now how to lose weight, without losing too much (which could be a problem if you already are quit thin).
I stayed totally raw for four years, before I ventured back into the cooked world. I found that I had a lower tolerance for cooked foods, and also put on more weight. My body lost its light feeling, and I also found myself becoming more emotionally reactive again.
It took me about a year and a half on cooked foods, until my body told me that I needed to make some changes again. Two of my wisdom teeth started bothering me. Through the use of neem oil and being careful about what I ate, I was able to control the pain for awhile. But some months later the tooth ache came back with revenge, and I could barely sleep for several days, as the pain radiated throughout my head. I noticed a few things during this time about the pain, and what alleviated it. I brushed my teeth with neem oil and that really helped. Also every time I drank my green smoothie the pain subsided. One day after eating some khichari (an ayurvedic moongdhal and rice dish) I got an intense tooth ache. That was when I realized that I needed to be 100% raw.
The remarkable thing was that in one day, after starting the raw foods, the tooth ache disappeared. And it has been gone since.
As I ventured back into raw foods, I was delighted to be reminded how wonderful my body feels when it is fed this simple natural food. After establishing this way of being I find that maintaining a 90-95% is sufficient for my optimal well-being.
